{semi} wordless wednesday

happy wednesday, y'all!
back in the fall i made the decision to drop back on my blogging....
it seems i can't even do it 2 times a week these days!
i just don't have the time like i use to.
there's a season for everything and the blog just isn't blooming this season too well!!

i miss you all, conversing and seeing what's going on in your lives-
i hope to catch up this week!!

----------------------------------------------------------

i will do a lil recap via my wordless wednesday pics!
have a great day friends!
xo

the main reason i have been MIA....
things just weren't going well for mini-me at her first year of high school.
we have homeschooled in the past, for 4 years, so it's not anything new.
it was a hard decision but after her recent visit to the neurologist,
being diagnosed with anxiety, mild depression, insomnia & stress induced tension/migraines,
her health is much more important.
the final straw was finding out she had spent lunch, her last 2 weeks of school,
alone in the library.
it's really sad what mean kids can do to others.

my new favorite drink....lawdy mercy, i never knew what i was missing by never trying a cosmo! and let me tell you, the entire bottle will gone before you know it....in like one hour night!

i will be traveling to nashville at the end of april for the st. jude 1/2 marathon.
st. jude has always been a place we have supported every opportunity we had,
so what better race to run?
i started a fund raiser for a lil boy who had had leukemia since last july.
he was diagnosed at age 2.
the precious baby received his angel wings 3 weeks ago.
my run will now be in his memory.
if you would like to donate, please let me know
{you can email me}
and i will link you to my fundraising page!

we will be leaving the last week of the month for spring break!
i don't know who is more excited:
the kids- to hang out with all their friends, sleep late, stay up late, hang out & be KIDS
the mr- to relax, not have to work, to paddle board & relax.....did i mention relax & not work?
and me- well, all the above:)
this image is what my 7 days will look like....
add the pool/beach and some friends ... TADA!

this is not where i will be, this is maui a girl can dream
i will be along gulf of mexico in orange beach, alabama

this is my newest kitchen toy.
if you like to cook, you gotta sell a kidney and get one of these!
i love it...it's a le creuset griddle/grill.
the other side is smooth (for pancakes, ya know!)

just sayin'....... :)

BEWARE OF ANKLE BREAKERS IN THE FORM OF A GREAT SHOE!!
i stalked mr brown for a few days.....finally arrived....i rolled my ankle a total of 6-7 times.
one of which left me crying, WALKING BACK TO MY HOTEL ON BOURBON STREET IN NEW ORLEANS, BAREFOOT!!!
if anyone wears a 6, i am selling these mothers!

well, that's all i got this week! i hope everyone has a great rest of the week & awesome weekend:)

  11. Hi Daphne,
So sorry to hear about mini-me. That breaks me heart, too.

Blogging is hard when you have a family. It's just hard to do everything. I'll connect with you soon to see what we need to do in advance for recipe swap since you may be leaving on Spring Break. Yea for you!!

  12. Daphne,
I hate hearing mini me has been going through all of that. I am glad that y'all were able to make the change that is best for her.
I am jealous of the week y'all are fixing to spend at the beach.
We are always around and if you can't be as much right now we understand.

    xoxo

  13. Oh....I have tears in my eyes for your mini me. Seriously. Why are kids so mean and cruel??? You are a very loving devoted mom and I am sure you will do everything in your power to make things better for her. I will keep her in my prayers. And you as well.

Also? Great to hear you loved the SG cosmo! I have been dying to try it!!!

  14. Your poor mini me. I hate to hear stuff like that. I'll say some prayers. I can't find SG Cosmo here yet. I've been wanting to try it. I like the Sangria a lot.

  15. Love the shoes, I'm a 6!
Not sure if I could do any better in them though. ;)

Goodluck with schooling...I work at a public high school, it can really suck! Wish I could come home many days!

  16. It's great to catch up. I've been MIA for months now. Sometimes it's really hard to start up again once you've been away! Sorry to hear about the home-school thing, but it's such a great step forward to dedicate yourself to your kids like that!

  17. I have tripped and fallen before all in the name of a cute shoe. Worth it. Sorry about the school issue- why must kids be such bullies!? And I love me some Bethenny so I'm glad you're loving the Skinny Girl!

  18. Mean girls are by far the worst- as a high school teacher its definitely the toughest to deal with :( Hope she starts to feel better now that she's removed from the situation. What a great mom you are :)

And being a great mom I think you deserve lots of Skinny Girl Sangria!

  20. I know the feeling about cutting back on blogging--once you cut back it's hard to get back in the old mode! I have GOT to try that Skinny Girl Sangria!

  21. Daph, it's been a while but after reading this post couldn't leave before commenting.

So sorry to hear about your sweet one's struggles with school and social life. It's rough out there and it scares the heck out of me to think about what it will be like for Sweet Bean once she hits high school. Thinking of y'all and wishing you all the best.

Just remember, "this too shall pass..."

    XO
