Home Tour Tuesday: Trimming the tree

Hey Y'all!! Wow, how did Tuesday get here so quickly?? When we were "younger" the days seemed to last 100 hrs.....not it's more like 4!  Shannon & are delighted to have you join us this week for Home Tour Tuesday. If you are new, WELCOME!! This week we are "Trimming the tree". We want to share a few of our favorite ornaments with you & invite you to do the same. Once again, thanks for playing along. We are so excited to see so many new faces each week!!

Before you link up, please read our "few simple rules" at the bottom of this post. Since this is so "new" there are a few "thangs" {as we say in the south} we need tweak to make each week run as smoothly as possible. We thank you so much ♥ !

{Home Tour Tuesday | Trimming the tree}

{1} Our first Christmas together: back in 1992 you weren't cool if you weren't wearing the latest Merrill hiking boot :) So, it only seemed appropriate that our ornament be, none other, than a lil hiking boot.  (we dated in high school but this was our 1st "official" christmas) i know your thinking i look like i am still in high school, i try hard!

{2} Lil Mans 1st Christmas: come 1993 we had a 1 mth old and the newest, most precious ornament to put on our tree this year. I fel in love with this ornament, thanks Hallmark!

{3} Mini-Me's frist Christmas: fast forward to 1997, we have a new addition to our little family & to our little collection of priceless ornaments. Yes, Hallmark! {the only 2 I won from there}

Each year I have purchased each of my children their "own" ornament. I always let them pick them out. It's all the way from Scooby Doo to the Strawberry Shortcake. I am sad to see that some have broken over the years:(  I have them all displayed on a wreath in my foyer.

Okay girls, if your playing along:

{1} Visit the (2) hosts Shannon @ The Webbisodes & Daphne @ Flip Flops & Pearls If you see something that tickles your fancy, follow along y'all!

{2} Please incorporate our badge into your post. {it's too cute not to!}

{3} Come back here & post a direct link to todays Home Tour Tuesday post. Sorry y'all,  all unrelated links will be deleted.

{4} Go take some home tours! How exciting not to have to get our of your PJs to do an open house?? If you come across one you enjoy, tell them!  Don't be shy:) Leave them some blog love {because we ALL love to get some lovin'} and if you think it's somewhere you'd like to return, start following them. Also, make sure you let them know your following them.

{5} If you get a new follower, go visit them & let them know you appreciate their visit. Ya know, treat them like a new neighbor. Because, afterall, we are letting them into our lives.

    -Whew- y'all still with me?? Seriously though, we just want to share these tips so that each & everyone who participates can get the most enjoyment out of this hop.

    I love my bloggy community! I look forward to opening my blogroll tab each & every morning. I love reading what is going on in your lives. I love to pray for you, send you (((HUGS))) &  laugh with you. My hope is that through our weekly bloghops you will come to meet new friends!!

    12. Hi,
      I came by here last week and saw all the home tours and thought it was so fun. I didn't know how this worked, but I did a little Christmas home tour the other day. Its not just of my ornaments... so you can remove it if you want, but I did add it. I love all the links I've been to so far. It is so much fun to see everyone's ornaments and the way they decorate. Merry Christmas!

    13. Awe, I do the same thing for my babies....every year a differnt/new ornament. I love the Hallmark ones now because they come with a little card inside that you can write a personal message in it....I blubber like a baby when I get them out every year! Anyway, cute, cute blog and I'm now a new follower! Stop by and visit me when you have a chance.
      Merry Christmas and many blessings,
      Laura

    23. I love how you have your kids pick out an ornament each year! We did that when I was a kid and I still have them all in a box. We used to have our own small artificial tree in our room that we could put up during Christmas and decorate with our special ornaments.

    26. Good evening Missy! Shame on me...I linked up to you this morning and the day got away from me and here it is "Merlot Hour/s" and I'm just now getting back to tell you how sweet your precious ornaments are! I'm actually drinking my merlot from the darlin' festive goblet you gave me! I tweeted about it when I first poured and got your twitter name incorrect. Lord have mercy! I'm off to look at the goodies on the links:)

    27. I love this home tour idea! I will have to join in sometime in the near future. But I love the idea of getting your kids and ornament each year. I may have to borrow that idea from you!

    28. I dearly love ornaments - every single ornament on my tree has a special memory or thought behind it - even the solid colored bulbs!

      I'm a huge Hallmark ornament FANATIC. It's sickening, but beautiful! :D

    29. So sweet, Daph! (I know I am super-late, but I am playing serious catch up...) We always got an ornament with something from the year every Christmas and they are still on my parents' tree - I love looking at them!

    30. I love the tradition of getting a new ornament each year. I started that with my Husband when we got together, I am going to start it for my Niece this year, and when my kids come along we will do it for them too. Its so special to be able to look back at them from years gone by!

    31. Such sweet ornaments. I was due at the beginning of December so someone gave my bother a 1st Christmas ornament as a shower gift. So I have two since I came that Christmas day. It is sad that one the decorations is peeling off the inside and can't go on the tree anymore.
